Tim McLennan is the CEO of the Queensland University of Technology’s commercialisation arm, QUT Bluebox Pty Ltd. He has over 25 years’ experience in strategic research management, early stage start up and venture management as well as later stage technology commercialisation. He has extensive international experience and worked across a wide range of industries including mineral and energy resource sectors, energy technology, water, sensors, robotics, education and aerospace. Prior to joining QUT Bluebox he was the CEO of an innovative start up “the International Energy Centre” and also had an extensive and diverse career in CSIRO. Key previous roles included Assistant Director of the AGCRC, Executive GM of the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies, various Board Directorships, State and Federal Government committees and he was a lead architect in securing CSIRO’s first international R&D centre – the International Centre of Excellence in Chile. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Australian Latin American Business Council, Deputy Chair of the Queensland Futures Institute energy subcommittee and member of the IMCRC Investment Committee.
