Serena Teo, mentee in the 2020-21 program in VIC (Monash University).

Serena Teo is a PhD candidate in the Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics department at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS). Her research focuses on understanding how biological materials are trafficked within cells, with a particular interest in small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). In 2013, Serena was awarded the Monash International Leadership Scholarship to pursue a bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She received a Gold Medal award for achieving the highest score throughout the duration of her studies. Serena then went on to complete her Honours program in 2017 and was awarded the Faculty Honours Prize.

Aside from her PhD, Serena actively participates in student-led organisations as the Vice President of Parkville Postgraduate Association (PPA) and a committee member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) Monash student chapter. She is also an outreach presenter and teaching associate at Monash University.
