Sarah Straub, mentee in the 2020-21 program in VIC (The University of Melbourne)
I’m from Germany and I finished school as well as a Bachelor and Master of Science in Biochemistry there, at a small University called University of Halle-Wittenberg. Before starting my PhD I started an internship with Bayer in Köln and realised I can’t work in a job I like there without a PhD. Then I started my joint PhD on interferon responses in macrophages with Paul Hertzog at the Hudson Institute in Melbourne, Australia and Eicke Latz in Bonn, Germany, which I am due to complete at the end of this year or mid next year.
