Patrick completed his Bachelor of Science in 2017 (majoring in Chemistry), Honours year in 2018 and started his PhD in 2019 at RMIT. Throughout his time at RMIT, he has been demonstrating experiments for first and second-year chemistry students. His research interests are in 2D materials, van der Waals heterostructures for electronics, and all things nanotech. Patrick’s PhD is focusing on the discovery of new materials for applications in nano- and optoelectronics using various computational approaches. His goal is to discover atomically-thin materials that are suitable for applications such as FeRAM, diodes, LEDs, solar cells and more.
