Mutah Musa has a B.Eng (Hons) in Civil & Water Resources Engineering from the University of Maiduguri – Nigeria. After this, Mutah was employed at the National Center for Genetics Resources and Biotechnology, as a Scientific Officer responsible for technical services including water facility management, bioreactor systems installation and operation and genebank (cold room) maintenance. He later proceeded for a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The main focus of his research work was wastewater treatment by adsorption. Currently, Mutah is enrolled in a PhD program at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Energy and Process Engineering. The focus of his present PhD research work is on the removal of water (dewatering) from microalgae to make it suitable for the production of biofuel (a low value product).
