Mingyu Zhu, mentee in the 2019 MedTech-Pharma program in VIC (Monash University)

I am a full time PhD student and a casual teaching associate, from the department of Pharmacology of Monash University. My PhD project focuses on the role of an M2 macrophage-derived chemokine, CCL18, in hypertension-associated fibrosis.

I graduated from the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Advanced with Honours) at Monash University, and also used to work as a research assistant (Thalassaemia and Haemophilia Molecular Reference Laboratory, Monash Medical Center) in a summer student experience project.

My work was selected for an oral presentation and a poster presentation in the 2016 ASCEPT-MPGPCR Joint Scientific Meeting. In 2018, I was selected as a finalist in the Student Poster Award session of the Joint Annual Scientific Meeting of the AAS, HBPRCA and AVBS.
