
Katie Tran, mentee in the 2020-21 program in VIC (The University of Melbourne)
Katie is a PhD candidate within the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on the characterisation of ocular biomarkers in Parkinson’s disease and how they can be used to help better understand the neurodegenerative disorder’s pathogenesis and progression within the eye. In 2019, Katie was awarded the inaugural John Landman Scholarship by the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. She is based at the Melbourne Brain Centre and is currently the 2020 Vice President of the Melbourne Interdisciplinary Students Society of Neuroscience (MISSioN).
