Jumal Ibrahim, mentee in the 2019 Energy-Minerals Program in SA (University of South Australia)

Jumal Ibrahim is a second year PhD student at the University of South Australia, with a background in materials science and engineering. Following her master’s degree, she secured an HSE officer position where she acquired experience in safety at work place and team working skills.

Inspired by her passion for research, Jumal acquired a scholarship to further her studies at the University of South Australia. Her current area of research is in the application of plasma technology for the development of thin plasma polymer coatings on biomaterials for cell culture application. Jumal Ibrahim is originally from Ghana where her interest in biomaterial and nanotechnology began. She is a recipient of the university of South Australia president scholarship and currently holds a top-up scholarship from the corporate research centre for cell therapy manufacturing (CRC-CTM).
