Huan Li, mentee in the 2020-21 program in WA (Curtin University).

Huan is currently a third-year PhD student at Curtin University in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering. His PhD project is “Sustainable recovery of base and precious metals from electronic waste (e-waste) using glycine leaching system”, which uses environmentally begin process to recover various base and precious metals from such an urban mine – e-waste. Besides his PhD study, Huan is also working part-timely in metallurgical company on lab- and pilot- scale tests of Au/Cu/Ni/Co ore/concentrate.

Prior to his PhD program, Huan obtained a Master degree (by research) in Chemical Engineering in 2016, focusing on lithium recovery from primary and secondary resources (spent lithium-ion batteries, lithium-bearing hard-rocks). Before that, he got his Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering in 2013.

Currently, Huan is the co-inventor of two patents and leading/co- author of several research papers. His research interests include waste recycling, lithium recovery, and novel process in metallurgical industries.
