Foad Farivar is a chemical engineering PhD student at the University of Adelaide. He completed his master’s degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering and worked as a researcher at the Elite Advanced Research Centre, Tehran, in 2013. His previous work experiences include lecturing at Shams Institute of Higher Education and working within the University of Adelaide’s High-Performance Computing support team. He received the International Post-Graduate Research Scholarship from The University of Adelaide in June 2016 and started his PhD the following month. Currently he is working on the modelling and simulation of pharmaceutical fluidized bed spray coating processes, one of the main units of tablet production processes within the pharmaceutical industry. The outcome of his research study aims to gain a better insight into the process and provide guidelines for process scale-up and optimization. His research project is supported by Mayne Pharma company. He joined the IMNIS MedTech-Pharma program in 2017 as a mentee to expand his network and gain a better insight of industry and improve the essential professional skills in industry.
