
Florence Lees, mentee in the 2020-21 program in SA (University of Adelaide).
Florence Lees is a PhD candidate within the Faculty of Health and Medical Science at the University of Adelaide. She is supervised under A/Prof Tania Crotti and Professor Mark Hutchinson within the Bone and Joint Osteoimmunology Laboratory and the Neuroimmune Pharmacology Laboratory. Her area of research includes investigating the role of both the peripheral and central nervous system in the creation of persistent pain in rheumatoid arthritis and the application new technology in the development of a more objective assessment of pain. In 2015 Lees was awarded a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) from the University of Adelaide. She then joined the University of Adelaide in 2018 to begin her PhD studies. Lees has collaborations with the Centre for Nanoscalebiophotonics, Flinders University and the University of NSW. She has published in the Journal of Mediators of Inflammation within the area of investigating new treatments for inflammatory arthritis.
