Catherine Stapledon completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences majoring in Pathology in 2014. Following this, she undertook an honours year in Orthopaedics and Trauma research with Professor Gerald Atkins and the Centre for Bone Cell Biology. Catherine studied the role of the Amyloid Precursor Protein in bone cells throughout. She began her PhD immediately after completing my honours. The work she has been doing is based on the theme of ageing, incorporating neurodegeneration and bone disease. Besides her PhD, Catherine also works as a casual retail assistant at Bardot Junior, a children’s clothing store. She also works at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in an administration position, where she completes equipment audits and invoices.
