
IMNIS Mentee Audrey Ndukwe
Audrey is a PhD student in the centre for Materials Science at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). As a medicinal chemist she is interested in applying organic synthesis and computational chemistry to create new drugs. Her project focuses on the development and testing of new antibiotics that are effective against biofilm related bacterial infections.
Outside of her PhD Audrey is a Young Science Ambassador for the Wonder of Science Program and aims to promote a STEM culture in Queensland Schools through Inquiry based learning activities. She is a committee member of the SEF HDR Student Society where she plans events and advocates for her fellow HDR students. She also teaches first-year chemistry as a laboratory demonstrator.
