Anjana Rai, mentee in the 2020-21 program in QLD (Griffith University).

Anjana Rai is a second year PhD student in Biomedical science who is working with Professor Kathy Andrews and teams at the Tropical parasitology lab at Griffith Institute for Drug discovery. Her PhD focuses on the understanding of how CSIRO anti-plasmodial drug leads effectively kills Plasmodial falciparum parasites that causes malaria. This will help understand the biology of parasites as well as pave pathway for this drug leads for further investigation.

Anjana also has interest in science outreach activities and has participated in various outreach activities. For example, spreading awareness about malaria to the high school students and community.

Anjana received her bachelor of biomedical science with honours from Griffith University.
