Aneeka Ratwatte, mentee in the 2019 MedTech-Pharma program in VIC (Monash University)

Aneeka Ratwatte an international student from Sri Lanka. I graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical science from Monash University, Malaysia in 2018. During my undergraduate study, I undertook two work experience placements at Durdans Hospital Sri Lanka and Asiri Medical Sri Lanka where I was trained in various diagnostic laboratories. With an interest in Cardiovascular disease research, I moved to Melbourne where I received an International study grant. I am currently working towards a Master’s in Biomedical and Health Sciences at Monash University, Australia. My research project will focus on Non-AT1R mediated end-organ damage in the Integrative Cardiovascular Pharmacology Laboratory at Monash University Clayton under the supervision of Prof. Robert Widdop and Dr. Tracy Gaspari. I am pleased to have been selected as a mentee in the 2019/20 Industry Mentoring Network in STEM program and am keen to gain an understanding of how industry works and strengthen my skills.
