Ananth is currently pursuing a PhD in Coastal Engineering in School of Civil Engineering at The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. Started in 2017, his thesis is on investigating tsunami characteristics in rivers and scour around bridge piers during tsunami propagation. Extensive laboratory experiments and numerical modelling (including 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and sediment transport models) are used in this study. He is also a Casual Academic at UQ tutoring various Undergraduate courses in School of Civil Engineering. Prior to this, he obtained a Masters degree specialised in Hydraulic Engineering from India’s top ranked institute for Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2017.
