Albert Ruiz graduated in Electronics and Mechanical Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) in 2008 and 2010, respectively. In 2010, he took a M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Universitat Barcelona and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He undertook an internship at CSIRO in Sydney working on fibre optics based diagnostic devices. Currently, Albert is completing his PhD in the Medical Device Research Institute at Flinders University. His PhD thesis is focused on researching and using fibre optics and bioimpedance measurements for developing new diagnostic devices.
