Aisha Tarar, mentee in the 2019 MedTech-Pharma program in VIC (The University of Melbourne)
I am Aisha Tarar. I did my bachelor’s in Biochemistry and master’s in Molecular biology from Pakistan. Currently, I am doing my PhD in Veterinary Biosciences at the University of Melbourne.
I am a 2nd year PhD student. My Phd Project is “Bone Health and Calcium homeostasis in dairy cattle”. As part of my Phd project, I am investigating bone health of cows during pregnancy and lactation stages. I collect blood and milk samples from dairy cattle. I am looking at different bone and metabolic markers in cows. Next, I will be doing bone histomorphometry analysis to confirm my results. It is anticipated that this study will result in improvements in management of dairy cattle to promote good health.
