Airah Javorsky, mentee in the 2020-21 program in VIC (La Trobe University)
After attaining a Bachelor of Biomedical science (honours), I continued to do my PhD in biochemical and molecular biology at La Trobe University. My research focuses on the structural biology of viral proteins and their subversion on the Scribble cell polarity module. This involves protein purification, biochemical characterisation and x-ray crystallography. Recently, I spent a few weeks as a Q-Fever manufacturing operator/technician for Seqirus and learnt a great deal about GMP and vaccine manufacturing infrastructure.
