IMNIS Mentee Dr Christina Zdenek
Dr Christina Zdenek is a biologist and toxinologist at the University of Queensland, where she works full-time as the Lab Manager and a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Venom Evolution Lab.
Her current full-time work explores the systematic effects of animal venoms (mostly snakes) and therapeutic options to treat snakebite. She also studies snake ecology and behaviour to better understand this often mal-aligned taxon.
On a part-time basis, she runs the #PalmCockatooProject, #CockyCognition Project, and The #DeathAdderProject. The primary purpose of her science communication work is to promote wildlife and reduce the human-snake conflict.
Her ultimate purpose is to use science to promote a better world, for humans and for wildlife.
